Scott County Senior Citizens Center will have the opportunity to make updates to their kitchen thanks to a $4,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

The gift was announced today at an Arvest Bank open house in Waldron. Shelley Buckles and Ted Sheets of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check.

Scott County Senior Citizens director Donna McCray said, “We are very excited and thankful for the generous donation made to Scott County Senior Citizens Inc. by the Arvest Foundation. The donation will provide us with the opportunity to replace our hot food serving table. This donation will increase our ability to provide hot, nutritious meals to our senior citizens of Scott County.”

Arvest branch manager Shelley Buckles said, "While visiting with Donna we learned of the need for updates to the kitchen at the Scott County Senior Citizens Center. One of the many services the center provides to the citizens of Scott County are hot, nutritious meals for those that want to come to the center and, a meals on wheels program that provides hot, delivered meals to homebound senior citizens. We are thrilled to be able to provide this grant for Scott County Senior Citizens Center so that they can keep providing this great service to our community."
