Arvest Bank President in Springdale, Ark. Named Woman of the Year

We’re pleased to announce Lisa Ray, President and Chief Executive Officer of Arvest Bank in Springdale, Ark., was honored at the Northwest Arkansas Business Women’s Conference as the 2013 Athena Woman of the Year.

The Athena award is an international award recognizing women for professional excellence, community service and women’s leadership development. Since the award’s inception in 1982 more than 5,000 people have received the recognition in communities across the United States, Canada, China, Russia and the United Kingdom.

“Every little thing that you do makes a big difference,” said Lisa Ray during her remarks upon receiving the award. Ray encouraged those in attendance to invest in their communities.

Ray has been president and chief executive officer of Arvest Bank in Springdale since April of 2012. She held the same position at Arvest Bank in Siloam Springs from 2005 to 2012. Ray joined Arvest Bank as a management trainee in 1989 and her career has been marked with a dedication to community service throughout Northwest Arkansas.

Her community service includes Chair for Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce, Chair for Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce, incoming chair for Springdale Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chair for the board of directors for Endeavor and CARE Foundation, board member for the Arts Center of the Ozarks, committee member for Downtown Springdale Alliance and member of the Springdale Rotary. Ray also fundraises for Ignite Springdale, Economics Arkansas and the American Heart Association. Additionally, she volunteers for a variety of organizations of personal interest.

Ray has also been honored as the American Heart Association Volunteer of the Year in 2008, NWA Louise Thaden Woman of the Year in 2003 and Glendale Community College Woman of the Year in 1983.
