The Lawton-Fort Sill Cooperative program in Southwest Oklahoma celebrated its 33rd anniversary recently, and awarded Arvest Bank and its co-op partner -- 3rd Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery -- with the Dinges Award for the fourth year in a row.

The Lawton Fort Sill Co-Op was established for the purpose of encouraging and fostering a spirit of friendship, mutual cooperation and understanding between military personnel and civilians in the Lawton-Fort Sill region. The program affiliates military members from Fort Sill with civilian businesses and organizations in the community. Co-Op members work together on community service projects and participate in sporting and social events, both at Fort Sill and in Lawton.

The Dinges Award is presented annually by the Commanding General of Fort Sill and the President of the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce to the partners who best exemplify the spirit of cooperation and promote community excellence.

Arvest and the 3-6 ADA partnered on several projects throughout the past year. Through this partnership, we have developed friendships that will continue for years to come. Below are a few examples our projects:

  • Arvest and 3-6 ADA Family Night at Cameron basketball games
  • Bill Smith Memorial Golf Tournament
  • ADA Commandant Luncheon
  • Armed Forces Day Luncheon
  • AUSA Hardy Stone Golf Tournament
  • Completed projects for four local schools as part of the United Way Day of Caring
  • Patriot Master Gunner Graduation
  • Saint Barbara’s Day Ball
